Full-Time Marketing Assistant

Great Harvest Bread Company trains and empowers new bakery owners to operate upbeat, popular and sustainable neighborhood bakeries. This includes owner training in bread production, pricing, operational efficiency, employee management, merchandising, store layout, marketing and more. In total, GHBC employs 32 people, three of which are in the Marketing Department — marketing director and two art directors. GHBC supports more than 200 unique, community-focused bakeries. Great Harvest has been recognized for the past three years as one of the most democratic workplaces in the world by Worldblu.com, and nationally as an outstanding franchise opportunity (Entrepreneur Magazine Top 500 Franchises) for the past 10 years. Dillon, Montana was also recently selected as “One of America’s Prettiest Towns,” by Forbes Magazine. The company attracts employees who work and play hard, and enjoy living in small town Montana.

GHBC is seeking an outstanding entry-level marketing assistant professional. This person will report to the marketing director and work closely with the art directors. The marketing assistant’s time will be primarily focused on helping bakery owners create and execute local grassroots marketing plans. All marketing plan recommendations come with tools such as websites templates, e-newsletters, a large variety of print templates, and radio, television and online resources. The marketing assistant will also have the opportunity to create basic design layouts, therefore a solid working knowledge of Abode Creative Suite is desirable. Project management skills also crucial.

The intent of all marketing activities is to create a loyal following of customers who believe anything less than fresh, scratch-made bread featuring pure-and-simple ingredients is not good enough for themselves or their loved ones. The GHBC target market includes well-educated, mid-to-upper income adults (primarily women) aged 35-55 who place a very high value on quality of life as it relates to health, nutrition and fitness. GHBC target market also seeks out locally-owned shopping experience where people know them on a first-name basis and never treat them like a transaction.

The perfect mix of skills for this position include:
  • Strong knowledge of grassroots marketing strategies and tactics
  • Excellent communications skills — Written and verbal
  • Outstanding organizational skills — attention to details, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software

Supply Chain Specialist

Great Harvest Franchising, Inc. (GHFI) seeks a supply chain specialist to manage our purchasing and supply chain process. This includes developing a standard purchasing program to achieve substantial savings for our franchise owners as well as garnering support for the program among the franchise community.

Our purchasing and supply chain to this point has focused on the distribution of logo’d packaging and proprietary wheat berries. Our owners have been resistant to the notion of group purchases for fear of giving up some of their independence. Increasingly they are now are asking us to facilitate purchases in a way that will save them money as a trade off for fewer choices. Because we are not a traditional franchise system, common purchasing models are not effective in our system. The successful candidate will work with all levels in Great Harvest to facilitate a creative plan to address our unique needs.
